Terms of Service
Last updated October 14, 2026
These Terms govern your use of LienTimer (the "Service"), operated by [Company legal name], an Arizona [LLC] ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the business you represent.
1. LienTimer is software, not a law firm
The Service tracks dates you enter, calculates deadlines from the statutes it cites, and fills in standard forms with your information. We are not a law firm, we are not your attorney, and nothing in the Service is legal advice. We do not decide whether you have lien rights, whether you should record a lien, which form fits your situation, or what to say in any document. No attorney-client relationship is created by your use of the Service.
Mechanics' lien rights depend on facts we cannot see, such as the true completion date, the terms of your contract, the status of the property owner, and payment bonds. You should consult a licensed attorney before recording a lien, serving a notice whose validity matters to you, or filing suit.
2. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of everything you enter, including dates, names, addresses, legal descriptions and amounts.
- You are responsible for reviewing every deadline and every document before relying on it, signing it, mailing it or recording it.
- Deadlines marked "estimated" are based on incomplete information and may be wrong. You are responsible for confirming them.
- You must not use the Service to record a lien or send a notice you know to be false or excessive.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account.
3. Mailing
If you use the certified-mail feature, we pass your document and recipient addresses to our print-and-mail provider (currently Lob.com), which prints the document and gives it to the United States Postal Service. We do not guarantee the date of mailing or delivery, and we are not responsible for USPS delays, incorrect addresses you provide, or a recipient's refusal to accept mail. Postage and mailing fees are charged as described on our pricing page.
4. Reminders
Email and calendar reminders are a convenience. They may be delayed, filtered as spam, or not delivered. You must not rely on reminders as your only way of tracking a deadline.
5. Subscriptions and payment
[Plan prices, billing cycle, free trial terms, cancellation, and refund policy, to be completed when billing is enabled.]
6. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY THAT DEADLINES OR DOCUMENTS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR SUFFICIENT TO PRESERVE ANY LEGAL RIGHT, AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OF LIEN RIGHTS, UNPAID AMOUNTS, LOST PROFITS, OR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. [Attorney to confirm enforceability.]
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently deletes your company's data. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. [Venue and dispute resolution, to be completed.]
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
